REBECCA SPAFFORD appeared onstage most recently with OpenStage Theatre as Agnes in Bug and Mae West in OpenStage Theatre's Dirty Blonde, for which she received the OpenStage OPUS Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She has costumed and performed for several of her recent projects including OpenStage Theatre's Bug, A Bright Room Called Day (OPUS Award for Best Supporting Actress) and The Women (OPUS Award for Best Costume Design) and Bas Bleu Theatre's The Scarlet Letter. Favorite past roles include Meg in Crimes of the Heart and Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet with OpenStage Theatre and the emcee and Madonna impersonator for Moonlighting Teachers. Rebecca has costumed for numerous local companies, including Bas Bleu Theatre and Carousel Dinner Theatre. She also was the main designer and costume coordinator for Colorado State University's Summer Cafe Theatre for two years and costumed such diverse shows as The Fantasticks, Triumph of Love and The Little Shop of Horrors. Other design credits include Art and Alarms and Excursions for the Nomad Theatre in Boulder; the original production of Am I Blue? for Fort Collins' Rainbow Chorus; and Anon(ymous), The Book of Liz, Man of la Mancha, Saint Joan, The Arabian Nights and The Threepenny Opera for OpenStage Theatre. Rebecca was nominated for a 2004 Denver Post Ovation Award for Best Costumes for the OpenStage production of The Winter's Tale. A native of Michigan, Rebecca moved to Fort Collins fifteen years ago.
