bio PETER ANTHONY is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist, a director and designer of over fifty productions staged in Colorado, California and Oregon. His work ranges from classics to contemporary drama and multimedia dance-theatre works. Most recently, Mr. Anthony directed and designed Anon(ymous), The Arabian Nights, Saint Joan and A Bright Room Called Day for OpenStage Theatre, Alice for Fort Collins Children's Theatre, Speed of Darkness/Velocity of Light for The Dance Connection, Amadeus and Art for Boulder's Nomad Theatre, The Imaginary Invalid, Scarlet Letter and The Swan for Bas Bleu Theatre, and Die Fledermaus and Madama Butterfly for Opera Fort Collins. His other recent productions include The Winter's Tale, Macbeth, Fuddy Meers and The Tempest for OpenStage Theatre, Dracula and Measure for Measure for the Denver Civic Theatre, A Streetcar Named Desire for Boulder's Nomad Theatre, Speed-the-Plow and Tongue of a Bird for Bas Bleu and Candide and The Magic Flute for Opera Fort Collins. He has completed recording sessions in Los Angeles for the rock opera Ruins, which he wrote in collaboration with Perry Sheafor. Discussion is underway for a major production in Phoenix with interest from the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. Other original works produced include Miranda Moon for OpenStage Theatre and Dreamland for IMPACTheatre. Mr. Anthony is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America. He holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of California, Irvine, where he worked with internationally acclaimed director Jerzy Grotowski. |
