bio BRIAN LANDIS FOLKINS is appearing for the first time with OpenStage Theatre. Last season he played Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire for the Tennessee Williams Festival in Mr. Williams’ birth town of Columbus, Mississippi. Some of his recent credits include Beane in Love Song with Paragon Theatre, for which he was nominated for a Denver Post Ovation Award and won a Marlowe Award for Best Actor in a Drama, and John in Eccentricities of a Nightingale at Germinal Stage. Brian travelled to Ireland, where he played both parts in rotation in Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story. Other credits include Wykowski in Biloxi Blues, Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol and Ben in The Mercy Seat at New Stage Theatre in Jackson, Mississippi; Jupiter in Dido: Queen of Carthage in Chicago, Illinois; and Tom, Phylis, & Leslie in Sylvia in Big Fork, Minnesota. Brian teaches acting and juggling at the Denver Center Theatre Academy and is an active photographer shooting concert photography for Westword. |
