bio STARLA KOVAR was in hiding for several years after her highly publicized and traumatic dramatic downfall in a second grade production at Longwood Elementary School in Glenwood, Illinois. Many years later, she focused on fonder memories and began attending performances at Chicago’s Arie Crown, Blackstone and Shubert Theatres. In spring 2005, after moving to Northern Colorado to pursue a degree in visual arts, she began working behind the scenes with OpenStage Theatre, serving as stage manager and board operator for openstage etc’s production of Extremities. Currently in her sixth season with OpenStage Theatre, Starla has served as stage manager and assistant director for The Book of Liz, assistant director for OpenStage Theatre's Dirty Blonde and Enchanted April and with openstage etc as production manager for Rag and Bone, assistant director and stage manager for True West, stage manager for The Six That Fell, and assistant director for Desperate Affection. She would like to thank both her son Noah for his endless patience and great attitude while sitting through countless hours of rehearsals and OpenStage Theatre for “bolstering my confidence, being a second family and giving me the opportunity to be a star in my own right.” |
